A current of mystery runs through throughout the book, but the focus is placed squarely on the novel's many interesting characters. The story is told through each character's point of view, not disimillar to the writing style in the lauded Song of Ice and Fire novels. As each character goes about their every day life, the reader finds themselves questioning motivations, situations, and even whether or not certain events truly happened. When solutions to the novel's great mysteries are finally brought to light, they feel earned, and genuine. All in all, the book is a great read.I definitely recommend this book!

A very interesting read that will keep you guessing the whole way through.
A naked woman comes out of the lake and causes all sorts of problems for those she meets.
This story kept me enthralled from start to finish. Flowing like a Gabriel Garcia Marquez fantasy with its compelling and quirky troupe of characters, it developed into a satisfying murder mystery. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in a refreshing approach to the thriller genre.
I loved this book! My attention was captured through the whole story, and I had to keep reading until I found out the answer to the mystery! A great debut for this author. Thoughtful and deep character development with smart artistic and historical references. It was nice to read a book that both kept me guessing, and had me rooting for the main protagonists.
I gave it to my partner to read, and he enjoyed it immensely as well!
I highly recommend this smart and mysterious fictional tale. I look forward to Ms. Klarman's next release!
